How To Get More Protein In Your Diet

Lesson 10 Module 2

Adjusting to a diet significantly higher in protein than you are used can be difficult. With that in mind, here are a few practical tips to help make things a little easier.

There are two ways to increase your protein consumption. Eat more. Drink more. But that's sometimes easier said than done, right?

  • Use protein shakes as a quick and convenient way of increasing intake during the day.
  • Track and identify meals that are consistently low in protein, then adjust accordingly.
    • For most people this will be breakfast. Some high protein options, include:
      • Eggs (omelette, scrambled eggs, etc)
      • Greek yoghurt
      • Protein shake alongside your standard breakfast
  • Utilise protein bars and snacks where convenient

Most importantly, don't feel like you have to get this right from day one. Work on getting closer to your protein target over time. Tweak and adjust what you're eating as you become more confident with your nutrition.
